Introduction/Results
The Aba Maoling iron‑ore mine’s backfilling system is installed at an elevation of 1,985 m and delivers a maximum head of 120 m. It integrates seven core subsystems—sand‑return water supply from the concentrator, tailings classification, thickening, cementitious material storage and handling, slurry preparation and pumping, water supply and drainage, and electrical control—offering robust performance and excellent adaptability. The system can produce slurry at 80 m³/h and pump it at 90 m³/h, supporting a base solids concentration of 68% and an adjustable ash‑to‑sand ratio ranging from 1:4 to 1:20. It efficiently handles tailings with concentration fluctuations of 20%–30% as produced by the concentrator. Key equipment highlights include a 14‑m deep cone thickener and a dedicated flocculant‑preparation system, ensuring superior thickening performance. In the slurry‑preparation and pumping stage, the system relies on a vertical high‑speed mixing tank (with a mixing capacity of 80–100 m³) and an ultra‑high‑pressure valve‑type industrial backfilling pump. This pump delivers a maximum outlet pressure of 20 MPa and a peak flow rate of 120 m³/h, equipped with a高原‑specific motor. Its wetted components are crafted from the latest ultra‑wear‑resistant high‑chromium alloy steel, enabling the slurry to be conveyed to exceptionally high elevations and meeting the demands of long‑distance, high‑head transport under complex operating conditions. Moreover, these advanced materials significantly extend the service life of the wetted parts, substantially reducing maintenance costs and downtime, thereby ensuring stable, efficient operation in high‑altitude environments.
